Does anyone have, or know about Autonomic Neuropathy?
I have had type 1 diabetes for 16 years, unfortunately difficult to control. I have made a lot of progress with my numbers, but it seems like I'm still always sick randomly throughout the year. My doctor has mentioned something called Autonomic Neuropathy. He says there is no specific test for it, but it does fit all of my symptoms. Does anyone know about this disorder, or has experienced it for themselves? I am looking for some information on it.

Hi! I've been suffering from autonomic neuropathy (ВСД) all my life and now at the age of 27 I finally found the way how to ease the symptoms and I want to share my experience with people who are suffering. I know how hard it is to live with this ilness and you should be strong to overcome it and live like ordinary people.
First, try to lead a healthy life. Here I mean no smoking, drinking alcohol and no parties in nightclubs. Instead of this you can read a book in the park or watch a movie, have a dinner with your friends.
Second, it is very important to sleep at least 7-8 hours a day and go to sleep every day in the same time. It is also important to have meals regularly (3-4 times a day).
And the most important thing is swimming.Swimming is a good exercise for your blood vessels and for your body. I think that for me it is the only cure. I swim 1 hour every morning from 6 to 7 a.m and I can live the whole day like other people and lessen all symptoms. You should avoid sports activities like hiking, running, exercising in gym, etc. which make you feel tired. Instead chose some outdoor activities which aren't exhausting yet fun.
One more thing. People without autonomic neuropathy will never understand you and will think that you are strange or taking too much care of yourself. Only parents or very close friends who know about your illness will be able to understand and support you.You should be very strong and live very balanced and healthy life and never look at others.
Hope my advice will help you.
Stay healthy!

Autonomic neuropathy is a type of peripheral neuropathy that affects involuntary body functions, including heart rate, blood pressure, perspiration, digestion and other processes. Instead of a specific disease, autonomic neuropathy refers to damage to the autonomic nerves that results in a variety of signs and symptoms. This damage disrupts signals between the brain and portions of the autonomic system such as the heart, blood vessels and sweat glands, resulting in decreased or abnormal performance of one or more involuntary body functions.
Neuropathy occurs because of diabetes after a while and is difficult to be cured well. You should exercise regularly, stop smoking and drinking alcohol, keep your limbs warm and rest enough.
