I am a type 1 diabetic and i like doing fun things to raise money for diabetes uk. My latest little venture is to the Ecuadorian Andes. Go to http://www.justgiving.com/andytoecuador to donate and for further information.

Listen, believe me, the Andes are no fun. They're very high, slippery and bitterly cold. You could catch your death... If you really want to raise money - for diabetes or anything else - sponsorship's OK, but climbing the Andes ain't the smart way...
The smart way is this: - get people to sponsor you on a car trip from one end of the European Med to the other... Say, from the Spanish side of Gibralter to Halkidiki in Greece - (or back in the other direction, whichever...) Now, it's quite a long way and may take a few weeks, but if you take the coast-road and stick to hotels - (at least 3 star and above) - who cares...? Real nice...!!!
That's not just the smart way - it's the fun-way...!
