How can I know if I really have diabetes?
I think I have some of the symptoms but I'm unsure if they are just pysicilogical or not! Type 2 runs in my family!

If there are other type 2's in your family, ask to use their test meter. If it's 2 or more hours since you've eaten, your blood sugar should be between 90 mg/dL and 130 mg/dL. If you are over that, go to your doctor for an official blood test. Other symptoms include, loss of hair, frequent high thirst, frequent night time urination. loss of weight to name a few. If you have those signs, skip the home test and head straight for the doctor!

phone your doctors office for visit and tell the receptionist that you wish to have blood screening for glucose levels. Hopefully she will be the serious type and get the doctor to refer you to the labs for testing before you go in for your physical.
My personal belief is that all people should have an annual physical with blood draws and urine exam. No matter what age or family history! It would save all of us a lot of grief and guessing about how our health is.
I could have sworn that I was perfectly healthy 12 years ago! Wrong!!!
Check with a family members meter 2 hours after the beginning of a meal. It should not be over 120 or so.
The fasting glucose is usually the last thing to go so your after meal numbers will go up some times long before you will get a high number on a fasting glucose test.
they'll generally do a fasting blood sugar--you come in fasting and they check your blood sugar
if you have other diabetics in your family, you could check your level using their meter--look for 80-120 when fasting and 100-140 after eating as good levels.
Just go see your doctor. They can tell with a simple blood test. It is worth it to go and find out. If you do have it, it is managed easily with the right diet and exercise. I am an Insulin dependent type 2 diabetic and have had no complications.
Good luck to you!
Some sure signs of diabetes is feeling dizzy, you are thirsty a lot and have to pee a lot, hunger is also a sign.
The only way is to go to your doctors and get a blood test. Tell your doctor you think you may have diabetes as it runs in your family...he/she will know what tests to do. Good Luck!
If you have a family history then you should see your Doctor to have a simple blood test. It'll give you piece of mind too.
