How can you tell if a child has children's diabetes?
Please give me symptoms to look for.

The main symptoms are the same as in no clothess. They tend to come on over a few weeks:
* thirst
* weight loss
* tiredness
* frequent urination.
Symptoms that are more typical for children include:
* tummy pains
* headaches
* behaviour problems.
The child must be treated immediately. See a doctor or do the following:
Most children with diabetes need insulin treatment. If this is the case,the child will need an individual insulin routine, which will be planned with the diabetes team.
* Most now use frequent daily dosage regimes of fast-acting insulin during the day and slow-acting insulin at night.
* Very small children normally don't need an injection at night, but will need one as they grow older.
* Increasing numbers of older children use continuous insulin pumps.

These are only symptoms .... child should see a Dr immediately. Undiagnosed diabetes in children can be very serious. Note: Used to children only got Type 1 diabetes - which is still called 'juvenile diabetes'. However, now it is very common for children to get type 2 diabetes - a condition previously limited to the no clothes population.
a child will generally be very thirsty, and sleepy with a lack of energy, plus alot of going to the toilet.
i was diagnosed at 9 and going to the toilet was irrataing due to the sugar in the urine, so that maybe another sympton.
Best advise is to get the child checked at the doctor asap.
I was 8 years old when I was diagnosed. The main symptoms was how frequently at night I was getting up to use the bathroom and get water (about 4 or 5 times) and I lost 10-20 pounds (I was a skeleten) and I was eating everything in sight. When the doctor checked my blood sugar it was over 600....so that was the symptom that tipped it off. So urinating a LOT, extreme thirst, loss of weight, increased hunger, and high blood sugar are the symptoms I had. And here I am 15 years later : ) Good luck to you!

22 years old...Type 1 diabetic since I was 8
My son was very crabby and emotional for 2 months. He drank a lot of pop-I just thought he was a pop hog. He had leukemia as a baby so I was worried he had something wrong. The oncologist found nothing wrong except a high blood sugar. Told us to test at home with Dad's meter. One day later he was in the hospital.
