If I have diabetes, is my doctor going to give me pills or injections?
I have some symptoms. I'm feeling tired all day, thirsty every 20-30 minutes, urination every hour or so except when i'm sleeping.
Your doctor will probably try the most conservative treatment first, according to your test results. That is, diet and exercise. If that doesn't work, then pills. Then injections.
If your blood sugar is skyhigh, and you don't seem to be producing any insulin at all, then you might have to start with injections, especially if you're a minor. Minors (kids and teens) tend to have Type I diabetes, which is when the patient doesn't produce insulin. However, there's a growing number of minors with Type II diabetes, where the body doesn't produce enough insulin, but the disease can be controlled with diet, exercise, and sometimes pills.
You can't diagnose or treat diabetes by yourself. You need to see a doctor, and you need to see a doctor SOON, like within this week. Your symptoms could have other causes, and you need to find out if you have diabetes or another problem.
well first do you have type 1 or type 2? If type 1 then the answer is yes and if you have type 2 you will go on pills. Sometimes type 2 diabetics have to go on diabetes as well. I'm not sure way though.
(add on to the answer above) type 1 is controlled by diet, exercise and pills, and type 2 is controlled by daily injections.

it depends on the type you have. it could be controlled by diet and exercise or medicine (pills or daily injections)
